Bye bye Blackberry... Helllooooooo iPhone!

So the day has come when I have finally taken a bite out of the Apple and upgraded to an iPhone. I have waited for this moment for almost a year, and in case you are wondering - YES I did count the days until I was due for an upgrade and checked at least twice if I could upgrade before I was entitled to. Now my baby iPhone is here - two months premature, but doing very well in its new loving home. Already after a few days I've been more productive using my iPhone than I ever were with my Blackberry. After the first joy of getting my first smartphone I never really got on with the  Blackberry but I'm not sure why that is. If it was because it didn't have the same creative options, or because it took forever to start up, or the completely random behavior it displayed after an accidental dip in the bathtub (it wasn't a very good swimmer...) or that it simply wasn't snazzy enough - to be fair it's probably a bit of everything. Maybe I would have liked it better if it was pink and called Raspberry instead...?

But on a more serious note, as a blogger the iPhone is a complete dream to work with in terms of using social media, mail, photos, calendar - you name it, and it's got it. That also means that I'm very happy and excited to announce that you can now also find me on Instagram - under the user name makeupbycandlelight. I have just recently started to upload photos, so please consider it a work in progress and there will be many more to follow. I thought I would share with you a few snippets of my everyday so it'll be a mix of beauty, fashion, lifestyle and just what's going on that day. A regular daily feature will be The 1 Spot, where you'll find a snap of what I was doing at 1 o'clock that particular day and as I get more into it I might come up with other ideas as well, and if there's anything in particular you would like me to show - please please let me know!

When my mum found out about the new arrival, she very kindly sent me some shoes for it since every baby needs to be kept warm; a couple of pink ones and a pair of cheeky black trainers - perfect for a shoe queen (and for once I'm not talking about Him Indoors). As we all know it's all about the accessories, so I also had to get a nice case for it that shows a bit of personality and the magpie in me is very pleased. I'm sure the first honeymoon period will pass after a while, but I am completely hooked on my iPhone and Him Indoors almost has to pry it from my hands when it's time to go to bed. I'm head over heels in love with it and I hope you'll come with me on my Instagram adventure and help me keeping it fresh and fun!
