Mottisfont Abbey

I don't live in a big city, but I'm definitely a city girl at heart and living more than 5 mins away from the closest Starbucks would be a challenge to me. I love the possibilities and offers of a big city, but there's also a side of me that really enjoys the peacefulness and serenity of the countryside and I'm so fortunate that I can have the best of both worlds where I live, and today I'd like to show you one of my favorite places nearby to go for a walk - Mottisfont Abbey. Mottisfont is a beautiful country estate that used to be a medieval priory, and the grounds and the house are just amazing to visit. On a sunny day it's a perfect spot for a picnic - if you can actually find some space on the lawns since it's so popular.

There are also regular art and photo exhibitions, and when I was there a few days ago they showed a range of portraits by the famous photographer Patrick Lichfield, who took photos of the rich and famous and many from the royal family. Anyone who was anyone, had their photo taken by Patrick Lichfield and as an amateur photographer it was really interesting and inspiring to see. Although I'm still very much learning about photography I hope you'll enjoy some of my happy snapping from this amazing estate, well worth a visit if you're in the area. Have a wonderful day everyone! Xx

  3. I love those old charm that England has to offer. It is always very picturesque these stone buildings and bridges with small little streams. Lovely pictures. They look like a painting or the cover of some classic text.

I really like the view. Too bad that I have no view like that in my city. I wish I could be there someday... :)
